FAQ

Q. Is a furry avatar necessary to join in?

A. You can participate even if you don’t have a specific avatar, or have a human or non-furry avatar. Inside the convention, we will prepare a corner where you can try out a furry avatar, so please feel free to come.

Q. Do I have to register to participate?

A. You do not have to register to participate. For more details, please check the How to Access page.

Q. Is there any kind of fee for participation or exhibition?

A. There is no fee for anything, including participation and exhibition.

Q. Can I participate even if I’m outside of Japan?

A. You can participate even if you are outside of Japan.

Q. How can I participate in VR JMoF?

A. Please see How to Access and follow the instructions, then join in the VR JMoF world during the convention dates.

Q. Where can I find the convention’s timetable?

A. For the timetable, please check the Program page. We will publish the timetable at a later date. When it is published, we will notify you through this website and social media.

Q. Can I participate even if I don’t have a VR headset?

A. You can participate even if you do not have a VR headset.

Q. Is Oculus Quest supported?

A. As of now, it is currently not supported, but we are considering to add support in at a later date.

Q. What are the recommended system requirements/specs in order to join VR JMoF through VRChat?

A. On Windows, you can join through VRChat/Resonite or watch the official VR JMoF video stream. On smartphones or Mac, you are unable to access VRChat/Resonite, but are able to watch our stream.

Q. If there is a user who is a nuisance (users who use an avatar so large that it blocks your field of vision, or who make loud sounds, excessive light or particle effects, etc.), what kind of action should be taken?

A. Using VRChat’s features, we are able to mute or hide the user who is a nuisance. For details on the features, please look at other explanatory sites.

Q. Is it held on other platform than VRChat such as cluster or Resonite?

A. For VR JMoF 2024, we are planning to host it on both VRChat and Resonite. We have no plans to hold it on other VR platforms at this time.

Q. Is it OK to take screenshots or stream?

A. At VR JMoF, you can freely partake in taking screenshots, streaming, uploading to social media, etc. For the details, please see the Terms of Participation page.

Q. Will there be an official VR JMoF video stream?

A. We are planning to have an official livestream using Twitch on the days of the convention. We are planning to stream. Details of the stream will be announced at a later date.

For VR JMoF-related questions or concerns, please use the Inquiry Form below. After filling out the necessary information, hit the “Submit” button, and our response team will receive your form shortly after.

Note: If an inquiry is sent 1 week before the con day or later, due to preparation for and management of the convention, we will not answer inquiries (urgent cases excluded) until after the closing of the con. We ask for your understanding.

We have gathered common questions into an FAQ, so please first look at the FAQ. If your questions have not been answered, please contact us through the Inquiry Form.

If you’re using an email address provided by a free mail client (such as Gmail, Yahoo!, etc.,) or one provided by your mobile carrier, please add “jmof.jp” to your filter settings so that our replies don’t end up in the spam folder.

We usually reply to messages up to a week after they’ve been received. If you haven’t received a reply from us a week after sending your message, and you’ve checked your spam folder, then please make sure you’ve added “jmof.jp” to your filter settings and send us your message one more time.
